Tofu. Slimy, squidgy, squeaky. Awful stuff.
In any other vege-stint I’ve avoided at all costs, because I’ve never ever had a pleasant experience of it. That being said, my knowledge is fairly limited to Thai restaurants and poorly home-cooked meals that I’ve choked down politely. I am definitely open to changing this opinion – perhaps as a first challenge, the blogosphere can answer me this:
IS THERE REALLY A TOFU THAT TASTES GOOD?

See now everything that goes *with* that tofu looks great!!!
My problem extends to me not knowing which kinds of tofu actually taste good, compared to the stuff I’ve had in the past which was pure evil.

good luck !
There are plenty of options that don’t involve tofu if you don’t like it, look at TVP, Tempeh, Seitan etc.
Fried tofu is pretty delicious when its done well. A little crispy outside and fluffy inside. Firm tofu is easiest to use for most things. Silken tofu just goes to mush if you aren’t careful.
This sounds pretty tasty and easy to cook – http://www.chinatownconnection.com/deep-fried-tofu.htm
